While Volumes 1 and 2 focused on introducing basic language skills to students such that they would have a solid foundation in Chinese, the goal of Volume 3 is to prepare students for traveling to or living in China. Topics covered in Volume 3 include how to apply for a visa, see a friend off at the airport, pick up a friend from the airport, and find one's way around in China (i.e. how to go to the post office, go shopping, buy presents, navigate the night markets). Exercises will continue to hone students' skills in listening, reading, writing, and grammar, all while building vocabulary and teaching about Chinese culture.
